Interviewer Larry Martin will present a oral interview of a WW2 veteran that he did several years ago. Alexander Jefferson was born in 1920 in Detroit.  He became a Tuskegee Airman pilot flying the P-51 fighter.  On a mission in August 1944 Mr. Jefferson was shot down over France becoming a POW of Germany.  He was a POW for about eight months.  When he was freed as a POW he was in the Munich area of Germany and went Dachau death camp not knowing what it was.  He talks about Dachau in his interview. Mr. Jefferson was also author of the autobiography Red Tail Captured, Red Tail Free. He was also portrayed by actor Branden Cook in the Apple TV mini-series, Masters of the Air.
