Join us for an intergenerational book discussion of Boots on the Ground: America's War in Vietnam by Elizabeth Partridge for Middle School and High School students and Adults. Students are encouraged to invite a family member or mentor to share reflections on the 50 Year Commemoration of the end of the Vietnam War.
Boots on the Ground shares the personal stories of eight people—six American soldiers, one American military nurse, and one Vietnamese refugee - as well as profiles of key American leaders and events, reminding us of all that was happening at home during the war, including peace protests, presidential scandals, and veterans’ struggles to acclimate to life after Vietnam.
Boots on the Ground made the National Book Award Longlist for Young People’s Literature and was a Finalist for the YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction Award, among other acknowledgements.
After registration you will be contacted to arrange pickup of the book.
